Croatia Croatia is a land with more than a thousand years of history. It's possible to trace back different cultures, like Morish, Roman, Italian, Austrian-Hungarian, in the architecture and cuisine of the country. Croatia is also a country of contrasts: The green hills of Istria, the bald islands of northern Dalmatia, the waterfalls of Plitvice, the route of the seven Castles (Kastela), the hip clubs and bars on Hvar, the class and luxury of Dubrovnik. Croatia is situated on the junction of the Alps, the Medditeranean and the Pononic highlands. But also situated on the junction of different flourishing cultures. The characteristics of all of these melted together to the country of surprises that Croatia is today.
